EMBER TOOLS

The Self-Assessment Tool is a structured diagnostic instrument designed to help institutions evaluate their readiness, alignment, and capacity for meaningful change in gateway mathematics pathways. It provides campus teams with quick, actionable insights, highlights areas of strength and opportunities for growth, and generates a personalized report to guide planning and next steps. This tool is intended for campus leaders, faculty teams, and administrators who are engaged in advancing mathematics pathway reform and fostering equity-driven student success.

The EMBER Guidebook is a comprehensive resource that offers step-by-step guidance for implementing research-informed innovations in mathematics pathways. Drawing on lessons from participating institutions, the guidebook includes practical strategies, case examples, tools for tracking progress, and recommendations for building sustainable change. It is designed for institutional teams seeking to translate insights into actionable plans and to strengthen collaboration, equity, and student outcomes across their campus.

Innovation Overviews provide modular briefs that highlight evidence-based innovations in gateway mathematics education. Each overview includes a summary of the innovation model, examples from participating institutions, key implementation lessons, and supporting research evidence. These resources are intended to inspire and inform campus teams as they explore scalable strategies, from co-requisite course models to technology-enhanced instruction, and to guide implementation efforts that advance student success and equity.
